Dacey’s path to journalism and electronic media began in video production. She started working extensively with video editing software in her teens, eventually gaining hands-on professional experience by shooting and editing live performance videos for Paste Magazine—first as an intern, and later as the magazine’s multimedia editor. Over time, her role evolved from camerawoman and video editor to project manager and producer. She booked talent, coordinated locations, and oversaw the video production process as ideas blossomed into on-location shoots and, eventually, published work. She continues to work in multimedia project management at Garden & Gun with the magazine’s Back Porch Sessions and other video projects.
